Johnson was named to the CSC Academic All-America team

AUSTIN, Texas North Dakota State volleyball senior setter Kelley Johnson has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America First Team.

Johnson becomes the first NDSU volleyball player to earn CSC Academic All-America honors since 2006. She is also just the fifth player and second player to be named to the first team in program history. The award was originally named CoSIDA Academic All-America.

Johnson has a 4.00 GPA in the biological sciences and dished out a career-high 1,342 assists this season, which led the Summit League and ranked eighth in the nation. The Eagan, Minn. native has also reached the 2,000 career assist plateau with 2,856, which is 10th all-time in NDSU history. He is one of five players to reach the mark in the NDSU Division I era.

Johnson was named the Summit League Pitcher of the Year, earned a spot on the All-Summit League first team, was named a Summit League Championship Scholar and earned Summit League All-Academic Team honors earlier this season.

Johnson joins Caitie Baird (Stanford), Diana Brown (Illinois), Logan Case (Western Michigan), Logan Eggleston (Texas), Elizabeth Juhnke (South Dakota), McKenna Melville (UCF) and Gina Rivera-Ortiz (Tennessee State) follow me. The first team.

NDSU finished the season with a 21–12 overall record and advanced to the semifinal round of the Summit League Tournament for the first time since 2018.
