Canada Spengler Cup List | TSN

Canada’s Spengler Cup roster was announced Thursday and includes 15 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders for the tournament, which begins on Boxing Day in Davos, Switzerland.

Team Canada kicks off play against Sparta Prague on Monday at 2pm ET/11am PT.

The preliminary round will end on December 28 and the championship match will be played on December 31.

Canada beat HC Ocelari Trinec in the 2019 final and have won the tournament a total of 16 times.

The Spengler Cup men’s hockey event returns after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former long-time Arizona Coyotes captain Shane Doan serves as the head coach, while former Vancouver Canucks coach Travis Green is the head coach. Hall of Fame defenseman Scott Niedermayer will join Green on the bench as one of his assistants.
