Purdue Football: Brady Allen to the portal

Redshirt freshman Brady Allen announced his transfer to the transfer portal this morning.

Allen, a former 4* recruit and the highest rated player in Purdues 2022 class, has four years of eligibility remaining.

While this move is disappointing, it’s not particularly surprising, except for the timing. I figured Allen would jump into the portal rather than wait until the day after Christmas to get me out of bed. It will be interesting to see if he decides to follow the Brohm brothers to Louisville after going through bowl preparation with Brian and the Louisville coaching staff.

Ultimately, this won’t change much for the Boilermakers. They now have two untested quarterbacks on their roster instead of three. Former 4* Michael Alaimo, now an RS Jr., and incoming 3* freshman Ryan Browne remain, but there are several notable options on the transfer portal. I expect Coach Walters and Harrell to throw in a line and see if they can’t land.
