Remember all those rumors that former Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost was a candidate for the Arizona State job? Turns out there was a reason they started in the first place. Not just for the reason Huskers fans thought.
Scott Frost is apparently really interested in living in Arizona. The former Nebraska head football coach didn’t just care if he had a new job ready to move to.
By Azcentral.com, Frost just came up with a big chunk of change to buy a mansion in Phoenix. The purchase was significant because money was spent on real estate in the area.
Frost reportedly spent $5.4 million on his and his wife’s new house, but it looks like they’re getting quite a bit of bang for their buck. According to the listing, the house has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.
The former Nebraska football coach’s new house also features a media room, exercise room and massive closet in the master suite, as well as a butler’s pantry. Keep in mind that the mention of a massive closet was part of the listing, and I don’t particularly want to draw attention to it in this article.
Now you can make your jokes about why it was a selling point.
The past of Nebraska Football continues… Literally
The fact that he bought a house in a prime golf area is also likely to start an avalanche of jokes. The former Nebraska football coach was the subject of several stories after his resignation about how he preferred to play golf rather than work on improving the team toward the end of his tenure.
I have to wonder if this move could be false to some of the real problems that started the end of the Scott Frost era at Lincoln. Is it possible that he just never wanted to come back? There was certainly talk that he had second thoughts when Bill Moos offered the job back in the day. The fact that he moved out of state and bought a house in Arizona without a new job shows that he wouldn’t want to be here if he didn’t have to.
It’s not a strike against the former Nebraska head football coach. There are many people who would rather live anywhere than in this state. But could it have always been on his mind? At this point, it’s moot, but interesting to think about.
