The teams traded power play goals back and forth in the first half of the opening period, with Colorado College’s Brett Chorske scoring two goals sandwiched between one. Jack Cronin.
Chorske opened the scoring 2:00 into the game, sliding after his own puck Ethan Pearson refused his original offer.
Cronin followed just over four minutes later with a wrist shot from the left circle on an assist The Seven Waltons and David Jacobs.
It was Chorske again for the hosts as he poked a close-range shot under the crossbar after the halfway mark of the opening period.
Colorado College struck again early in the season with Noah Serdachny’s goal 1:37 into the second period. What appeared to be an innocuous pass toward the crease found Serdachny’s stick as he fell to the ice and his bucket as it fell crept inside the post for a 3-1 CC lead.
The hosts made it 4-1 with 13:29 left in the second period on Logan Will’s semifinal goal. He started the series with a big hit in the neutral zone, then crept free for a stretch pass and slid home his fourth goal of the season. Danny Weight made it 5-1 CC with a shot 1:22 later.
Tyler Coffey scored at 3:12 of the third to give Colorado College a 6-1 lead. Serdachny scored the second of the game 0:54 later, bending to the slot.
The Seven Waltons connected on his fourth goal of the season 7:50 into the third period, ending a Jayden Sison pass into the opening.
