Hattie led the way for the Vols, posting a 1-meter high in both the heats and finals. The Victoria, British Columbia native posted a score of 337.25 in the finals to earn the win. Her performance was highlighted by a Forward 2 1/2 Somersault 1 Twist Pike that earned her a score of 67.20. Jacob Reasor also advanced to the finals, finishing eighth behind 287.90.
In the preliminaries Owen Redfearn narrowly missing out on the finals and finishing 13th with 271.15 points. Nick Stone finished 19th after 240.90.
In the women’s 3-meter race Grace cable and Tanesha Lucoe both advanced to the finals out of 42 divers. Cable placed 10th with a score of 302.80, while Lucoe checked in at 12th after 299.15.
During the preliminaries, Elle Renner narrowly missed advancing to the finals by finishing 13th with a score of 285.15. Madison Reese finished 15th thanks to a score of 283.10. Kara Holt (270.65), Emily Ann Wolfson (258.20) and Bailey Davenport (231.20) completed the day’s affairs.
On Wednesday, the Lady Vols will compete on the platform, while the Vols will compete in the 3-meter dash. The session starts at 11 a.m., when the men’s and women’s races continue at the same time. The finals start 15 minutes after the end of the heats.
