Reed was stellar this season with the Hilltoppers after transferring from West Florida, where he threw for 7,507 yards and 78 touchdowns in 25 career games. At Western Kentucky, Reed has a 40-point, 4,756-yard campaign.

In two seasons at SMU, Mordecai totaled 72 touchdowns and eclipsed 3,500 passing yards both years. Mordecai had an absurd nine-touchdown performance in SMU’s 77-63 win over Houston. First-year coach Luke Fickell has a key player for 2023.

We’re not going to see five-star freshman Arch Manning a ton next fall, are we? That’s not the expectation. Ewers will be Steve Sarkisian’s third campaign with the Longhorns as Texas looks to improve on 2022’s eight-win streak. In the first half against Alabama in September, a full-strength Ewers showed why he was the best player in the country in 2021, according to 247Sports. Texas needs more of that from him.
