Qatar’s table tennis doubles team qualifies for the 2023 World Cup finals

Doha, Jan 12 (QNA) – Qatar’s table tennis doubles team has qualified for the finals of the 2023 World Table Tennis Championships to be hosted in Durban, South Africa in May 2023.

Ahmed Khalil Al Mohannadi and Mohammed Abdulwahhab beat Kazakhstan’s Iskander Khark and Aidos Kenzhigulov (4-1) in their singles match tonight in the Asian Qualifiers at the Lusail Hall in Doha.

With this victory, Qatari table tennis continued its successful streak, making the Qatari team the only Arab team from the Asian continent to qualify for the 2023 World Table Tennis Championship finals.

The Asian qualifiers feature 13 teams in men’s doubles, 12 teams in women’s doubles and 12 teams and players in mixed doubles, 25 players in men’s singles and 28 players in women’s singles.

Qatar will host the qualifiers as part of the Qatar Table Tennis Association’s drive to organize major events and tournaments on an ongoing basis.
