In women’s swimming and diving, No. 2 beat No. 5 Ohio State and No. 6 Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama Well. 2 Texas Women’s Swimming and Diving defeated No. 5 Ohio State and No. 6 Alabama in a two-day dual meet that concluded Saturday at the Alabama Aquatic Center.

Texas outshot the Buckeyes 196-157 and outshot the Crimson Tide 213.50-139.50.

The Longhorns opened the day with a 1-yard sweep highlighted by Hailey Hernandez 314.15 points to win the event. Bridget O’Neilwho won the 3m on Friday, finished second in the 1m with a score of 301.15. Janie Boyle finished third with a score of 289.85.

Texas followed with a dominant win in the 400 medley relay, as Olivia Bray, Lydia Jacoby, Emma Stickle and Kelly Pash combined for a time of 3:32.85, more than three seconds ahead of runner-up Ohio State.

Pash added a pair of wins, winning the 100 free (48.37) and 200 IM (1:58.24), bringing her two-day total to four individual victories.

Jacoby picked up his second victory in as many days, winning the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:11.14 to finish the breaststroke event.

Sticklen won the 100 fly in 51.20, followed by Bray, who finished second in 53.32.

Bray also took third in the 200 back (1:56.25), his third top-three finish of the weekend after winning the 100 back on Friday.

Texas finished the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:29.34. Bridget SemenukStickle, Grace Cooper and Pash.

Next, Texas hosts No. 4 NC State on the 27th-28th. January at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
