India posted a stunning 317 runs in Thiruvananthapuram in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday to win the series 3-0.
After threatening the 400-run mark for the second time in the series, India produced a thrilling bowling display to end Sri Lanka’s innings by 73 runs.
After Ashen Bandara’s injury, Sri Lanka suffered a record 317-run defeat in the last ODI.
This is the highest margin of victory in men’s ODIs and the first time any team has won a men’s ODI by more than 300 runs. The women’s ODI record is New Zealand’s 408-run win over Pakistan in 1997.
