LUBBOCK, Texas Sonya Morris scored 17 points and Harmon Road added 12 points, nine assists and six rebounds, but the No. 25 Texas women’s basketball team won 68-64 against Texas Tech on Wednesday.
Shaylee Gonzales scored in double figures with 10 points and added five rebounds. Texas recorded six blocked shots, including three Taylor Jones. The Longhorns grabbed 15 offensive rebounds.
Texas (13-6, 4-2) trailed by as many as eight in the fourth quarter, but got within one at 63-62. DeYona Gaston layup with 1:21 to play.
Texas Tech (15-4, 3-3) knocked down a pair of free throws and held on for the 68-64 win.
The Longhorns next travel to Baylor for a game on January 22nd at 4:00pm CT on ESPN2.
