NM State hosts Western New Mexico in an exhibition before the spring season

When the Aggies take the court Friday, it will have been 97 days since they last competed against someone not wearing the Crimson & White. Although considered an exhibition game, the matchup with the Mustangs serves as NM State’s spring season opener.
Prior to Friday, the Aggies were last in action when they competed at the ITA Regional Championships in Albuquerque, NM from Thursday, October 13th through Friday, October 15th.
The Aggies’ official start to the regular season is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24, when they compete in the UNLV Quad, a four-day event at the Frank and Vicki Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas.
The head coach Carlos Vargas rely heavily on seniors Jordy Visser which ended tied Louis Menard for the spring 2022 team lead in singles wins with 10.
Returners Corey Clarke and Father Feig will also look to provide positive results for the Aggies this spring after both finished with nine wins last season.
Vassanth MathanLuca Fé D’Ostiani and Ryan Ford are the final three returns of the Aggies while Patrick Lohmann, Henry Lynum, Yehor Opanasenko and Gout Stipetic serves as the Aggies’ freshmen.

COMING NEXT

After competing in Las Vegas, the Aggies return home to begin a four-game homestand beginning with New Mexico on Saturday, February 4th.
