NORFOLK, VA. Three Old Dominion Field Hockey players were named to the VaSID All-State Field Hockey team on Friday, January 20th. Marlon de Bruyne was named to the first team at the same time Camera MacGillivray and Delphine the Younger was named to the second team.
De Bruijne was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and 1StTeam All BIG EAST. He led ODU offensively with 14 goals, six assists and 34 points in 18 games.
MacGillivray was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year and first team All BIG EAST. He had a 15-3 record with the Monarchs last season and was second in the country with a .818 save percentage. He was also fifth in the nation in goals-against average with a .966. MacGillivray made 81 saves and gave up just 18 goals on the year.
Le Jeune scored 12 goals and added three assists for the Monarchs, giving him 27 points, second on the team behind de Bruijne.
The Field Hockey team will be recognized for winning the BIG EAST regular season championship on Thursday, February 2nd in the men’s basketball game against James Madison at 7 p.m.
