Michigan football’s offseason drama continued Friday with news that co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss has been fired.
Weiss was placed on administrative leave after revealing that he was being investigated for computer crimes. Since then, we have learned that someone in Schembechler Hall has been illegally using a university email that was not the account holder. The person’s activity was reported by someone else in the building. This account was consistent with Weiss’ claims.
A minute later the athletic department sent an email saying it had terminated WeissWeiss took to Twitter to reflect on his two-year stint in Ann Arbor and released his own statement.

Weiss came on board in 2021 after overseeing the running game Baltimore Ravens. He was considered an up-and-coming coach and was rumored to be a likely candidate for Jim Harbaugh if he left for the NFL.
