Michigan’s hockey team dropped a heartbreaker at No. 2 Minnesota on Friday night, allowing a late tying goal before losing 4-3 with nine seconds left in overtime.
The eighth-ranked Wolverines will look to bounce back Saturday night and earn a sweep in Minneapolis. The puck will be dropped at 8:00 p.m., and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Friday in Michigan (13-9-1, 5-8 Big Ten) took a 3-2 lead into the third period after scoring two goals 15 seconds apart late in the second period, but Minnesota (18-6-1, 12-2-1) took the final 20 minutes and outscored the Wolverines 18-6. It scored the tying goal with 4:20 left, and then Toronto Maple Leafs second-round draft pick Matthew Knies scored on a power play in the final seconds of overtime.
The Wolverines, ranked sixth in the Big Ten, are 0-3 this season against the first-place Gophers.
