Steve Smith has done it again.
Australia’s Test No.3 has reminded the cricketing world that he is just as handy in the shortest format of the game, smashing another Big Bash century in a week.
Batting first in the Sydney derby between the Sixers and the Thunder, Smith managed to reach triple figures in just 56 balls.

Smith battered the Thunder bowlers to all parts of the SCG and brought up the hundred with a big six.
He finished with 125 not out off 66 balls in a sensational innings that featured nine sixes.
The Sixers posted an impressive 2/187 from their 20 overs as Smith and captain Moises Henriques (45 not out off 46 balls) combined for a 155-run partnership – the Sixers’ highest of the season.
Mark Waugh said on Fox Cricket: “He’s just put on an absolute clinic here tonight… some kind of performance tonight.
“He’s become the Hulk tonight.”
“I’m speechless,” Moises Henriques said.
– We think we wouldn’t let him play last year.
“It was unbelievable. Some of those shots, I stood up at the other end completely shocked.”
Notably, the explosive knock was Smith’s second Big Bash century in a week after he beat the Sixers against the Adelaide Strikers in Coffs Harbour.
Prior to his return to the magenta, a male Sixers player had never scored a century in Big Bash history. Now they have two, both courtesy of Smith.
A large crowd packed the SCG and there were hilarious scenes when one of Smith’s cubes landed in the box in a crowd occupied by Parramatta Eels players, including halfback Mitchell Moses.
Unfortunately the Eels were unable to hold on to the catch in what Waugh described as a ‘knock on’ attempt.
David Warner’s Sydney Thunder crumbled in reply and were bowled out for 62, with Warner scoring just 16 as the Sixers cruised to a 125-run victory.
“This has been a massacre, hasn’t it?” former Australian bowler Brett Lee said on Fox Cricket.
