Flower Mound Marcus teacher, football coach Tim Morrison resigns by request after arrest

Flower Mound Marcus offensive coordinator Tim Morrison has resigned following his arrest last week, Lewisville ISD confirmed. Dallas Morning News on Tuesday.

Morrison was among 46 men, including a youth pastor and the chief operating officer of a large hospital chain, arrested at an undercover prostitution ring this month in Frisco and Southlake. The men are charged with solicitation of prostitution, a felony in Texas punishable by up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Mr. Morrison was placed on administrative leave after the district learned of his arrest and submitted his resignation to the district last week, Lewisville ISD Director of Communications Amanda Brim said in a statement. This is a legal matter outside of his role in our district, and we have no indication of the circumstances surrounding his arrest that involved students.

Hired in April 2018, Morrison resigned on January 18.

The sting operation took place Jan. 12 and 13 at the Hyatt near Stonebriar Center in Frisco and the Hilton at Southlake Town Square. According to the authorities, the men had agreed to meet online in hotels with the intention of paying for sex.

When you think of human trafficking, you think of the streets of Dallas or Fort Worth or the strip clubs, said Agent John Perez, who oversees the North Texas Trafficking Task Force, part of Homeland Security Investigations. But there is a lot of demand in the suburbs.

In an email to Marcus’ families, Principal Will Skelton said Morrison has not returned to campus since being placed on leave.

I understand this is difficult news for our students and school community,” Skelton wrote. We will continue to focus on supporting our students in all the effects of Coach Morrisons unexpected departure. I have communicated directly with the families of the football program and Coach Morrisons class to make sure they know we are here to support them.
