PALO ALTO, California Oregon State looks to build off of its second top 25 win of the season as it heads to the Bay Area to battle Stanford and California.

The Beavs open the weekend with the Cardinal in a Friday night showdown before heading to Berkeley to take on the Golden Bears. This is the only trip of the year that does not include a return visit to Oregon State due to Pac-12 schedules. Instead, the Beavs welcome Utah and Colorado to Gill Coliseum next weekend.

CONFERENCE OF CHAMPIONS

The Pac-12 has long been one of the best women’s basketball leagues in the country. Since 2015-16, it has led all conferences in Final Four appearances (7), winning percentage (.799), NCAA Tournament wins (76), NCAA Tournament hitting percentage (.685) and WBCA All-Americans (15).

Pac-12 teams ranked nationally with the best .852 (115-20) non-conference winning percentage this season, ahead of the ACC (.818, 139-31), Big 12 (.802, 93-23) ), SEC ( .794, 143-37), Big East (.760, 79-25) and Big Ten (.757, 115-37). The league’s .852 clip is a new Pac-12 record, bettering the .848 mark (117-21) in 2016-17, when seven teams earned NCAA Tournament berths.

THE TIME OF TIME
Tima Gardiner has already shown the traits that made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the country. The Pac-12 freshman from Ogden, Utah earned Freshman of the Week honors in just his second week of college ball after totaling 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor against #23 Oregon. It was his second game in double figures after scoring 10 against Washington.

DEVELOPING AT POST
Jelena Mitrovic has experienced explosive growth since coming to Corvallis nearly four years ago. The redshirt sophomore sat out his entire first season at Oregon State before playing sparingly as a redshirt freshman. He earned a spot in the rotation last season and earned a starting spot in the WNIT before carrying it over to 2022 with 13 starts early in the season.

• Ranks in the top 10 in the Pac-12 in rebounds (8.1) and blocks (1.4) per game.
• One of two players 6-foot-9 or taller with six assists in a game since 2000 (Nancy Mulkey, UW) with six against Southern
• Had a double-double in his second game of the year (14p, 13r, 6b)
• Averaged 13.5 points and 8 reb. per game while shooting 70.6% from the field during last season’s WNIT run (his first four collegiate starts)
