The Spiders Drop meet the fleet after a merciless effort

Richmond, Va. –The University of Richmond swimming and diving team fell to Navy on the road in Annapolis, Md., 152-113 on Friday night.

The Spiders put on an impressive performance in 50 degrees Lauren Medlin took first (23.88) and Abby Fuller finished second (24.02).

Abby Fuller, Julia Krichev, Caitlyn Hughes and Lauren Medlinworked seamlessly together to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:35.23) over six other groups.

Sally Harrington brought home two personal bests in the 1-meter (248.48) and 3-meter (242.85) events as the only Spider competing in the diving portion of the meet, pushing his way through three Navy divers.

Claire O’Shaughnessybrings back two second-place finishes in the 100 (58.03) and 150 (1:32.32) butterfly.

Caroline Weldon also took a pair of runner-up finishes by battling hard in the 100 backstroke (57:36) and 150 backstroke (1:31.71).

Next, the Spiders head to Charlottesville, VA to compete in the UVA First Chance Meet.
