Mavs Gaming will complete the roster during the 2023 NBA 2K League Draft

Mavs Gaming begins its sixth season in the NBA 2K League. The team finalized its five-man roster for the 3v3 and 5v5 contests during the 2023 NBA 2K League Draft on Friday night.

Mavs Gaming had two roster spots to fill, selecting center Ludlow Glo Samuels and power forward Kwan to follow THEGOD Niblack in the second and third rounds.

In my first draft as a head coach, I wanted to make a splash, Mavs Gaming head coach Ryan Conger said in a statement. Glo, who we believe is the best center in the draft, promotes a successful veteran mindset and leadership. FollowTHEGOD is a perfect fit for our current roster and brings his experience and positional flexibility.

A native of the Dallas area, Conger enters his first season as the head coach of Mavs Gaming. The former NBA 2K League player spent his rookie season with the team before moving to Wizards District Gaming, where he led the team to the 2022 NBA 2KL 5v5 Finals and won the 2022 NBA 2KL 3v3 Championship.

Conger was also the 2022 NBA 2K League Most Valuable Player and the 2022 NBA 2KL Defensive Player of the Year.

“We are very excited to bring Ryan back home as the next head coach of Mavs Gaming,” said Mavs Gaming Senior Director Brad Freeman in a statement following Conger’s hiring. Ryan has established himself as one of the best NBA 2K League players in the world. He is the right person to take Mavs Gaming to the next level and help us bring a championship to Dallas.

Rounding out the new additions to the roster is shooting guard Reid Reizey Hill, who was traded by the team during the offseason. Hill, Samuels and Niblack join point guard Kenneth Kenny Zeus Strombeck and small forward Jeri Jarsity Pena. Mavs Gaming retained both players from last season.
