Florida football schedule What to know: Who are the Gators missing from the SEC roster?

As always, the Gators have to play LSU. To make things worse against a loaded team, it’s in the way. On the plus side, the other game against the West is at home against Arkansas. However, that is sandwiched between a date between Georgia and LSU.

Who will be missing by making up for the road game against LSU. There’s no Alabama to deal with, Texas A&M isn’t on the schedule, and neither is Auburn, Ole Miss or Mississippi State.

Florida football schedule that really matters

The Gators need to win home games.

Again, LSU day is on the road, but the Georgia game, as always, will be in Jacksonville. Tennessee has to make the trip to Gainesville, as does Florida State. That’s not to say it’s all within easy driving distance of The Swamp, but there are enough wins to pile up.

There’s a reason the team has to get them out

Florida Football Schedule What to Know: What Does It All Really Mean?

Opening the season in Utah is a problem.

It’s a tough way to get things started, and it puts all the pressure on the home game against Tennessee at least more than it already will be. Lose that, and then things get bad with road games at Kentucky and South Carolina before you start with Georgia.

If the Gators don’t get past the Vols, it’s going to take a lot of work to be better than 4-4, probably more than 3-5 before the November deal.

That’s not to say they won’t beat the Wildcats or Gamecocks on the road, but it’s not a foregone conclusion.

It’s Florida. It’s going to be a good second season under Billy Napier and it’s going to be easy to bowl. However, it sometimes becomes a fight.
