TThe debate about who is a tennis goat is endless and everyone has different criteria, but if you look at the cold hard statistics, Novak Djokovic can already claim to be the best player ever to use a tennis racket.
His 10. Australian Open Championship is equal Rafael Nadala record number of Grand Slams in the men’s category, as the pair have now won a total of 22 Grand Slams.

With Sunday’s win Djokovic and Nadal have shared 16 of the past 19 Grand Slams, with both men leading with 22.

Staying at the top of the world rankings shows consistency and Djokovic has long since passed Roger Federera record 310 weeks at the top of the sport. He has spent 373 weeks at the top of the rankings and despite missing six tournaments last season, a win at Melbourne Park will put him back on top.

Record number of points in a season
It was in the 2015 campaign Novak setting a record that will never be matched again. He accumulated 16,785 points thanks to 11 titles: Australian Open, Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo, Rome, Wimbledon, US Open, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris-Bercy and Masters Cup.
First place in the Masters 1000 series
After the Grand Slams, there are nine Masters 1000-class tournaments scattered around the world. Djokovic also has the most of these titles at 37, one more than Nadal and nine more than Federer.
Only player to win all nine Masters
Djokovic is also the only player to have won all nine Masters 1000 titles – in fact, he has won each one at least twice.

Another standout record is that he has won 1,043 out of 1,249 games played. This gives a success rate of 83.5 percent. Nadal is in second place with 1068 wins to 220 losses for an 82 percent success rate.
A leader among active tennis players
Victory at the Australian Open allowed Djokovic to break the tie Nadal in the total number of tournaments won.
It is 93 for the Serbian and 92 for the Spanish. Novak is still the most decorated active player, but is lagging behind Jimmy Connors‘ 109 titles in total, Federer‘s 103 and Ivan Lendl‘s 94.
