Stanford Downs Texas A&M – Stanford University Athletics

STANFORD, California Well. 18 Stanford men’s tennis held strong on its home court, defeating Texas A&M 4-1 on Monday afternoon. Cardinal will advance to the ITA Indoor National Championship, which will be held on the 17th-20th. February in Chicago.

Stanford came from behind to win as Texas A&M secured the doubles match point. Cardinal got one win per opening score, as Nishesh Basavareddy and Neel Rajesh won on the third court 6-3.

Four Cardinal players won in straight sets to advance the Cardinal to a national berth. Filip Kolasinski first won the sixth court 6-3, 6-1 Max Basing was close on the second court, 7-5, 6-3. Samir Banerjee extended the lead to 3-1 with a win in the third, 6-4, 7-5.

Aryan Chaudhary won his first set in tiebreak style and won two breaks to win the second 6-2.

Stanford travels to Orlando this weekend, 4-5. February, to face No. 16 Florida and No. 15 Georgia on the USTA National Campus.
