Alabama didn’t have much to do in the 2023 class. A midsummer doldrums gave way to an active fall and star-studded winter as the Crimson Tide finished with nine five stars per the 247Sports Composite and the third-best. class in recorded history. No signings were pending, as all but four of the 24 commitments have already moved to Tuscaloosa.
Still, Wednesday was signing day and the Tide made a few offers. Several in-state players announced their dynasty commitments as top walk-ons, or PWOs. These are not scholarship players, but are technically listed. As a historical example, Levi Wallace earned an NFL career when he joined the team as a sophomore in 2016.
Here’s a breakdown of the new additions to Alabamas No. 1 class.

Chatman, a 6-foot, 215-pound linebacker, led the Huskies with 74 tackles.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Deerman stays home as a three-star athlete. Deerman held offers from Michigan State, Ole Miss and others.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Gardner was a dynamic playmaker and plans to play running back with the Tide. He scored a total of 20 touchdowns throughout the season.

The No. 41 player in the country by Kohls Kicking, the 6-foot-4, 222-pound Harradine accepted the offer in December.
Brock OQuinn, Texas
OQuinn, a power forward, was part of a 13-win Southlake (Texas) Carroll team.
Kolby Peavy, Excel High
An All-Coastal Region team honoree, Peavy ran the ball for the nine-game winning Panthers this fall.
Billy Roby, Huntsville
Roby is the latest of the family to visit Alabama. His grandfather, Billy Roby, played for Bear Bryant, and his older brother, Jackson Roby, just finished his stint as an offensive lineman for the Tide.

Antonio Ross, Alexandria High
A 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver, Ross held offers from Memphis and Jax State. He was previously engaged to Hugh Freeze when he managed the Liberty.
