Bronx, NY (February 1, 2023) The Fordham swimming and diving teams completed one of their finest regular seasons Wednesday night, going 4-4 ​​with wins over Wagner and St. Francis Brooklyn Col. Francis B. Messmore at Aquatic. Center.

The Fordham women defeated Wagner 186-100 and St. Francis Brooklyn 206-77 to complete the team’s fourth undefeated dual meet season, joining the teams of 2009-10, 2018-19 and 2021-22. On the men’s side, the Rams beat Wagner 165-117 and St. Francis Brooklyn 176-107 for an 8-1 regular season, the team’s best record since the 1990s.

The meet opened with a sweep of 20 medley relay events, as Camp martin, Emma Shaughnessy, Ainhoa ​​Martinand Jessica Zebrowski finished first with a time of 1:45.98, while in the men’s group Christian Taylor, The Rapture of Paris, Taras Zherebetskyyand Nicholas Chao won in 1:30.73.

The next Fordham sweep came in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. Megan Morris took the top spot in the women’s 100 backstroke in 56.92 seconds, while Taylor took first in the men’s event in 49.69 seconds. Then in the 100 breaststroke it was Alison Lin earning the event win in 1:07.39 Kevin Zahariev took the men’s race in 58.91 seconds.

Fordham then swept the final three swimming events in the 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley and 200 freestyle relay. In the 100 butterfly, L. Martin won the women’s event in 58.08 seconds, while Taylor won the other event in 50.93 seconds. Morris then won the medley in the 200 medley with a time of 2:05:56. Daniel Langlois won the men’s series with a time of 1:57.58.

In the 200 freestyle relay, Fordham’s A. Martin team Zoey Howard, by Madeline Bergand Zebrowski clocked a top time of 1:37:68, while the men’s team of Raptis, Taylor, Chao and Zherebetskyy clocked 1:23:13.
