Friday night tennis for Tarleton at Oral Roberts in Tulsa

Tarleton was originally scheduled to play at 3 pm CT Friday in Oral Roberts at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center, but now they are under the lights, instead playing at 7:30 pm CT against the Golden Eagles at the Philcrest Hills Tennis Club. Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Texans (1-2, 0-0 WAC) will face Oral Roberts (0-1, 0-0 Summit) for the first time in program history. Tarleton is looking to make it two wins in a row after a 7-0 shutout win over Cowley College on Saturday.

Tarleton swept the Lady Tigers Martha Makantasi won in straight sets in the top division, earning him the WAC Singles Player of the Week. Six Texans picked up their first singles wins of the season; Your address at No. 1, Emma Persson at address no. 2, Elsa drink at address no. 3, Celia Vaudeau at No. 4, Ximena Morales at No. 5 and Clara Sobius at address no. 6.

Oral Roberts, meanwhile, was on the wrong side of a 7-0 loss at Wichita State. The Golden Eagles lost 6-0 and 6-1 in two complete doubles matches at Nos. 2 and 3, then lost all singles matches in straight sets.

Last year, Oral Roberts enjoyed its first winning season since 2016-17, going 12-10 on the year, including 7-4 at home. Oral Roberts and Tarleton had five split opponents last season; Montana State, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, Grambling State and Stephen F. Austin. Tarleton went 4-1 against those teams last year, while Oral Roberts went 2-3.

This is the first of five road games that will span the entire month of February for the Texans. They next play at UTSA in San Antonio on Friday, February 10th at 2pm CT.
