College and high school hoops, girls hockey

(WWNY) – College basketball, boys’ and girls’ high school basketball and girls’ high school hockey were on the sports slate Wednesday.

It was a rare Wednesday afternoon men’s college basketball contest from Jefferson Community College’s McVean Athletic Center as the Cannoneers hosted Cayuga Community College.

First half action: Ibrahim Wally drives hard into the tin for two. The Cannoneers are down 1.

Then it was Jeremiah Smith who split defenders to the basket. Cannoneers trace 4.

Smith in the goal makes a kiss fall off the glass. JCC has dropped 5.

Eric Eastham knocks down a 3-pointer from the rim. Cannoneers route 23.-12.

Dante Stokes rips the wire in the draft bumper. JCC is down 13, 27-14.

Its Stokes with nice moves in the bucket goal.

Cayuga defeats JCC 69-56

The Flyers of Norwood-Norfolk host Morristown in Northern Athletic Conference boys basketball.

Walker Belile to Dominick Perretta for a 3-pointer. The Rockets are up 8.

Belile Perretta to the opposite corner for 3 of his 13 points. Morristown rises 9.

Matt Richards with a floater at the finish. Flyers are within 7.

Morristown defeats Norwood-Norfolk 40-28.

In girls Frontier League basketball from Sackets Harbor, the Lady Patriots host Alexandria.

First Quarter: Peyton Britton scores on a turnover. Sackets Harbor has risen 2.

At the other end, its Madi Davidson kiss off the glass, a binding game.

Its Davidson again bank shot. Alexandria is second.

Davidson comes up strong down to the basket. The Lady Purple Ghosts are rising on the 4th.

Sackets Harbor beat Alexandria 46-42.

On the ice was a girls NAC game in Potsdam as the Lady Sandstoners hosted Canton.

Rylie Bicknell collects the pass and rips the kickoff. Sophie Bruno gives a bouquet. It’s 1-0 Potsdam.

Kennedy Emerson rushes in from the right and rips the ball inside the opposite post. Its 2-0 Sandstoners.

Cantons Ashlyn Beeles feeds Emily Estabrooks in the slot. The screenshot goes to the top shelf, and Potsdams leads 2-1.

From the blue line, Bruno splits the defense and shoots a shot. Potsdam leads 3-1.

The Sandstoners won 4-1 and will take the top spot and host Alexandria in the upcoming X Group playoffs. On Wednesday, Canton travels to Massena for the second semifinal.
