Antolin broke his own 200m record as Hawaii competes at the WSU Open

SPOKANE, Wash.On Thursday at the WSU Open, University of Hawaii track and field had a solid day with the pentathlon; On Friday, the momentum continued with the record-breaking performance and other highlights at The Podium.

Junior Alyssa Mae Antolin put his name atop the UH record book in December at the same venue, posting a 24.38 for the 200m, breaking his own record from the previous season. On the second day of the WSU Open, she outdid herself with a time of 24:10 to finish third in the event, but upgraded her status as one of the top sprinters in the history of the Rainbow Wahine program.

Almost the same could be said about the second course Lilian Turban, who placed second in the high jump with a height of 1.79 (5’10.75). He narrowly missed his personal best from two months ago when he crossed the line in 1.80 (5’10.50).

In other events in the field, graduate Victoria Solheim ranked 11th^th Overall in the shot put with a distance of 16.31 meters as a sophomore Caitlin Simmons ranked 18th^th Long jump point, distance of 5.30 meters.

UH is back in action on the third day of the open, with numerous events including relays, shot put and pole vault.
