Another win for hockey, Senior Bowl for Michigan football players and more

In our latest Michigan Wolverines news, the hockey team wins its fourth straight, Michigan football players participate in the Senior Bowl and more.

It’s not the same as the regular season, but if Michigan football fans want to get in on the action and want to see former Michigan Wolverines play, they can tune in to the Senior Bowl.

The annual college football all-star game, which is always packed with NFL scouts, will feature three Michigan football players this week, represented by wide receiver Ronnie Bell, forward Ryan Hayes and center Olu Oluwatimi.

Bell has impressed this week, as has Ryan Hayes. Both had impressive highlights and I expect all three Michigan football players to be selected in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Bell had an excellent bounce back season after missing almost all of 2021 with a knee injury. He led Michigan football in receptions (62) and yards (889) and had four touchdowns. Oluwatimi won the Rimington Award and Hayes again earned All-Big Ten honors.

The Senior Bowl begins at 12:30 PM EST in Mobile and this is how we look at it.

The Michigan Wolverines continue their hockey winning streak

Michigan’s hockey team has been on an upswing lately and kept it up with a 6-2 home win over the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday night for the Wolverines.

Gavin Brindley scored twice in the second period as the Michigan Wolverines broke open a 2-1 lead after the first period and built a 5-1 advantage into the third period. Brindley also had two assists.

Adam Fantilli also scored for Michigan in the win and dished out three assists as the Wolverines improved to 9-8 in the Big Ten and 17-9-1. Erik Portillo had another solid night between the pipes with 23 saves and two goals allowed.

Michigan wrestling drops to a dual with Oklahoma State

The Michigan Wolverines stepped out of the Big Ten Conference with a dual meet with No. 11 Oklahoma State on Friday night and UM won 24-15.

However, in some good news, No. 1 heavyweight Mason Parris continued his undefeated season and picked up his 22nd win thanks to a 5-3 decision.

It was the third dual loss of the season for the Michigan wrestling team, which entered the match ranked sixth.
