Mallon and de Bènazè won at No. 1 doubles for the Skyhawks

WEYMOUTH, Mass (February 4, 2023) – Boston University defeated Stonehill College 7-0 in a non-conference men’s tennis dual match at the Weymouth Club tonight.

Highlights

  • Freshman Corey Craig and junior Jonah Dickson led Boston University to victory as a double winner.
  • Craig combined with Junior Ben Letzer 6-4 decision at No. 3 doubles and then secured a 6-1, 6-1 victory over the Stonehill senior Christian Duffy at No. 2 in singles
  • Dickson and a sophomore Cole Knutsen team won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles. Dickson followed that up with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles against the freshmen. Mathias Langaard.
  • Knutsen was also a double winner for the Terriers, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
  • Second year student Guillaume Duhil de Bénazé and a freshman Matthew Mallen earned Stonehill’s win at No. 1 doubles, defeating the BU junior Johann Sajonz and a sophomore Adrian Pawlowski 6-2.

Stonehill (6-2, 0-0 NEC) will be back in action next Saturday when it opens Northeast Conference will play Merrimack College at Cedardale Health & Tennis Club in Haverhill, Massachusetts at 1:00 p.m. BU (2-2, 0-0 Patriot) will face Adelphi University and MIT next Saturday at 8:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
