Michigan football is looking to hire a familiar face as an assistant coach

Michigan football promoted Kirk Campbell to quarterbacks coach late last month while serving as an offensive analyst for the 2022 football season.

But it appears that Jim Harbaugh has yet to add to his football staff for the 2023 season.

According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, Harbaugh is hiring a very familiar face.

The Wolverines are looking to hire Chris Partridge as an assistant coach. Partridge was at Michigan from 2015-2019. During his tenure in Ann Arbor, Partridge served as director of player personnel and coached safeties and special teams.

He left for Ole Miss after five years in Ann Arbor. He coached the safeties and was the defensive coordinator this past season at Ole Miss.

Not only was Partridge a good coach, but he was also known as a great recruiter. This is a welcome addition to the coaching staff and should boost recruiting.

His role has not been announced as of this writing.
