Fencing set for the Ivy League Round Robins

ITHACA, NY – Columbia fencing will compete in the 2023 Ivy League Round Robin Championships this weekend at Barton Hall on Cornell’s campus.

Each team fences in double matches against each other team. The team or teams with the best record will be crowned Ivy League champions. The operation starts on a Saturday in February. 11, 10 a.m. when the men face Yale. The women are scheduled to begin against Cornell at 2:30 p.m. The entire schedule can be found at Ivy League Round-Robin Tournament Central page.

The men participate in the championships as the number one team, and the record is 21-3. The women are ranked No. 2 after going 29-2 in dual meets this season.

Last year, the men won the conference team title for the seventh time in the last eight seasons after sweeping the competition 4-0. Senior Ashton Daniel won the individual foil championship and as head coach Michael Sincerely was named Ivy League Coach of the Year. Columbia also returns second-team All-Ivy League honorees Christopher Walker (saber) and Teddy Lombardo (sword).

The women finished second at 4-2 and are looking for their fourth Ivy League crown in five seasons after their streak of three straight championships snapped in 2022. Zander Rhodes earned All-Ivy League second-team honors in foil.
