Utah State Women’s Tennis lost to BYU 7-0

PROVO, Utah – Utah State women’s tennis beat BYU 7-0 on Saturday.

The Cougars took the doubleheader despite a fight from the Aggies. Senior Sydney Stage and partner Lisa Küng battled to win their match on court two 7-5. In place No. 1, partners Zeynep Naz Ozturk and Monique Burton lost 6-4 after junior Laura Fernanda Eugene of Hillary and graduate student Annaliese County lost three on the field.

The Aggies were eliminated during singles play with losses at all six positions.

In second place, Küng fought until the end of the match. After dropping the first set 7-5, Küng forced a second-set tiebreak before falling 7-6 (4) to end the match.

Sixth, as a sophomore India Nespor also forced a second-set tiebreak after a tight match. Nespor lost in the tiebreak and lost the match 6-3, 7-6 (4).

The Aggies continue their season with a home game on Saturday, February 25 at 11 a.m. (MT) against the Idaho Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
