A very impressive week culminating in the Ed Burns Tournament Brinn Division Championship Tewksbury at the top of this week’s HNIB News Boys Division 2 Top 10. The Redmen went 3-0 this week and beat Winchester 6-1 in the Burns final. The two teams will meet again on Saturday.
Canton remains in second place after one week period. The Bulldogs beat Mansfield 5-0 and lost to D1 Marshfield 2-0. They have Bishop Feehan and Franklin this week.
#3 Duxbury it was a quiet week with only one game a 6-2 win over Plymouth North. The Dragons have Boston Latin on deck.
#4 Walpole it was an interesting week 1-1-1. The Timberwolves fell to Weymouth 7-2, tied Needham 0-0 and beat Framingham 3-1. They have Braintree and King Philip on the horizon this week.
#5 Norwood it was a busy week, because it also went 1-1-1. After a 3-3 tie, the Mustangs lost to Medfield 7-3, but beat Holliston 4-0.
Plymouth to the south remains at number 6 despite the week off. They beat North Quincy 5-2 and lost to Scituate 4-1. A big game on Wednesday looms against #8 Silver Lake.
#7 Hopkinton moves up one spot with two more wins this week over Ashland and Westwood. The Hillers have a big game at Medfield on Wednesday.
Silver lake slips down to No. 8 after a 4-2 loss to Plymouth North. The Lakers then rebounded with a 3-2 win over Whitman-Hanson.
Newburyport moves up one spot to No. 9. The Clippers beat Amesbury 8-1 and lost 5-1 to D1’s top team, St. Johns Prep.
Rounding out the Top 10 is a newcomer Gloucester which had a six-game winning streak snapped after a 4-2 loss to Winthrop, but Fisherman has played well. They have three games this week with Marblehead, Danvers and Swampscott.
