Hockey at FirstEnergy Stadium: what’s happening, who’s playing

CLEVELAND, Ohio Hockey at Clevelands FirstEnergy Stadium features high school, college and minor league games among other skate times.

Several games are played at FirstEnergy Stadium.

“We wanted to maximize that and make sure a variety of groups have the opportunity to experience this unique atmosphere at FirstEnergy Stadium,” said Rob McBurnett, Browns director of community and corporate communications.

Here’s an overview of the schedule:

Open skate

Tickets remain for individuals and families. Open roller windows are from 15:30 to 18:30 Wednesday, February 22and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m on Saturday, February 25. Hour-long sessions cost $15 to $20 and are free for ages 5 and under. Spectator admission is $10.

Browns season ticket holders have reserved ice time due to weather conditions nearly every day from Wednesday, February 15th through Sunday, March 5th.

Fans can bring skates or borrow them for free rental at the stadium; There are 700 pairs available.

It’s like bowling, said Brad Mohr, FirstEnergy’s director of stadium operations.

John Carroll University Outdoor Classic: Friday, February 17

Canisius College plays John Carroll University. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Faceoff is at 7:30 p.m

It’s the first hockey game in Blue Streaks history.

Tickets are available through ticketmaster; John Carroll students have access to free tickets through the school.

Admission tickets cost $10.

Meeting at the lake: Saturday, February 18

The game will feature No. 5 Michigan vs. No. 7 Ohio State in the first-ever major hockey event at FirstEnergy Stadium. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. Faceoff is at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.

More than 40,000 tickets have been distributed by February 10.

USHL Cleveland Classic: Thursday, February 23

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders play the Youngstown Phantoms at the gates at 5:00 p.m., with the matchup at 6:00 p.m.

The teams play in the 16-team Eastern Conference American Hockey League.

OHSAA Hockey Tournament: Multiple dates

Six high school hockey games are scheduled as part of the OHSAA state playoffs. The teams are selected based on the results of the upcoming matches.

The games will be played at 4 and 6 pm on Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26. The games will be played at 5 and 7 pm on Friday, March 3.

Admission tickets are $20 and are available at OHSAA and flag master.

Cleveland Monsters Outdoor Classic: Saturday, March 4

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will face the Cleveland Monsters in an AHL game with gates at 11:30 a.m. and kickoff at 1 p.m.

This is Monsters’ second outdoor game. The team played in the Rochester Americans in the Frozen Frontier Hockey Festival at Frontier Field in Upstate New York on December 13, 2013. The Monsters had scored with one second left in the game to force overtime. the Americans won it in a penalty shootout.

Tickets start at $10 and are available at flag master.
