Superior boys and girls hockey advance to sectional finals

Both the Superior boys and girls hockey teams won Tuesday’s sectional semifinal game and advanced to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) sectional finals.

The top-ranked Superior girls shut out fourth-ranked Marshfield Co-op (Wisconsin Valley Union) 8-0 in Superior. They will face third-seeded Hayward Co-op, which defeated DC Everest 4-2, for the Section 1 championship Friday at 7 p.m. in Mosine.

The third-ranked Superior boys upset second-ranked Stevens Point 4-2 to advance to the Division 1 Section 1 championship game. They will battle fourth-ranked Hudson on Friday at 7 p.m. in Chippewa.
