Queens women’s tennis with a 6-1 win on Wednesday afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, NC Gardner-Webb posted a decisive 6-1 win over Queens on Wednesday afternoon. The win moves the Runnin’ Bulldogs back to .500 on the season at 3-3.

GWU used new doubles pairings in each of the three matches. They took the first decision of the day, winning 6-1 in the top-seeded doubles match Manon Delsol and Emilia Roslund. They completed a doubles match point recap Valeria with Lloc and Cayline Le Grange won 6-3 on court #3. They dropped the match on court #2 7-5 Maria Jardim and Courtney Fyvie playing with it.

Elise Semmartin got Gardner-Webb’s first singles point of the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win on court #5, followed by Roslund’s 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2. The Runnin’ Bulldogs had Le Grange pick up the team win as she won 6-0 , 6-3 at No. 6.

Queens got their only point from a tight match in the top division in singles over Delsol. Gardner-Webb won on courts No. 3 and No. 4. Jardim won 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 and Lloc won 6-4, 6-3.

The Runnin’ Bulldogs have their next game on Saturday when they travel to Cullowhee to begin a three-in-a-row trip.
