Corvallis, Ore. Nine of the ten games went to the Beavers at 27^th-ranked Oregon State wrestling team dispatched Stanford 30-3 on Sunday. Of the nine decision wins, four of the Beavers came over ranked opponents, incl by Matthew Olguin win No. 3.

Brandon Kaylor started the day with a back-and-forth battle at 125 that didn’t see the first points until his escape that started in the second period gave him a 1-0 lead. Kaylor needed just one takedown to beat Stanford’s 26^th-placed Nico Provo. Oregon State grabbed a lead they never relinquished at 3-0.

In another close match Jason Shaner took the 133 lb. match by a 4-2 margin. A conversion with not much time left in the third gave him the two points needed to knock down No. 29 Jackson DiSario and give OSU a 6-0 advantage.

Cleveland Belton came from behind to block Jason Miranda’s upset bid. The 141 lb. bout saw Belton trail after the first, but evened it up at 4 going into the final period. Belton used a layoff and ride time point to push the Beavs’ lead to 9.

Riley Gurr The graduating member of the Beavs picked up a major decision 10-2 in his final performance at Gill Coliseum. He jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period and never looked back, eventually racking up four more points and one run in the third. The important decision marked his first of the season.

Stanford got its only win when No. 11 Daniel Cardenas won a hard fought game Isaiah Crosby in the 157 lb. bout.

Oregon State shook it off and began to stretch its lead back when Matthew Olguin upset third-placed Shane Griffith after the break. Griffith’s escape to start the second period gave him the advantage, but Olguin answered the escape with a start of his own to seal it. Griffith’s riding time was not enough to force an extra period.

Mateo Olmos needed a little more time to win by decision, but grabbed the necessary takedown to win in 25^th-placed Tyler Eischens 4-2. A late escape by Eischens in the third forced a sudden victory period.

In the 184 kg clash Trey Munoz collected his third win by major decision as he defeated Brook Byers by a dominant 24-13 margin. Despite trailing 2-0 early, he doubled up Byers 10-5 to go into the second. Munoz showed no signs of slowing down, racking up five takedowns and an escape to build a 21-10 lead before taking a 24-13 Major.

Competing for the last time in Gill, Tanner Harvey picked up his second major decision against a Pac-12 opponent with a win over No. 31 Nick Stemmet. The sophomore built a big lead early as he used two near-four takedowns to take a 12-1 lead after one. After Stemmet outscored Harvey 3-0 in the second set, Harvey escaped once, took Stemmet down and rode the riding time to secure the major.

JJ Dixon, another graduating member of the team, won his final bout at Gill in a heavyweight tilt. A reversal and near-fall highlighted the second frame, where he took a 4-0 lead to score a first-leg 5-2 victory.

Oregon State will next compete in the Pac-12 Championships next Sunday in Stanford, Calif.
