TAMPA (March 1, 2023) — The University of South Florida women’s basketball team scored 28 points Elena Tsineke and 21 points Sammie boy The Bulls finished the regular season in dominant fashion with an 85-55 win over Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday.

South Florida improves to 26-5 on the year and finishes American Athletic Conference play at 15-1. The Bearcats fall to 9-20 overall and 2-14 in league play.

The Bulls hit on all cylinders from the opening tip, led by Puisis’ 15 first-quarter points, all from three-point land. South Florida closed out the first 10 minutes of the game with a 12-2 run over three minutes to take a 25-16 lead, then held Cincinnati to just nine points in the second quarter to take a 43-25 halftime lead. and never looked back.

The green and gold eventually extended their lead to a game-high 30, 67-37, early in the fourth quarter.

Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds while leading the Bulls on the glass Carla Brito career high 11 boards.

South Florida recorded 10^th 20-win season in 2021-22 while playing in the sixth American Athletic Conference championship game in its nine years. The Bulls reached its highest national ranking of the season when it entered the Nov. 30 Associated Press Top 25 poll at No. 13 and advanced to its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance in the last nine years.

USF has made 17 postseason tournament appearances and earned eight NCAA tournament berths as a head coach. Jose Fernandez22 seasons. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Fernandez has guided USF to 10 20-win seasons, two WNIT finals, the 2009 WNIT championship and won more than 400 games in his career. Fernandez was named a finalist for the WBCA and a semi-finalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year Awards. He was also named the 2021 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the 2020-21 campaign.

In the 2021-22 season, the Bulls had three players recognized by The American for impressive seasons, including Elena Tsineke (All-Conference First Team), Bethy Mununga (All-Conference Second Team) and Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (All-Conference Second Team).
