The Panthers will bring the first high school football game to Bank of America Stadium on August 19th

CHARLOTTE – The Carolina Panthers will bring high school football to Bank of America Stadium for the first time in the team’s inaugural Keep Pounding High School Classic, a season opener between state power Rock Hill Northwestern and Charlotte Providence Day School on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 19

To celebrate the announcement, a press conference featuring Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich, Northwestern head coach Page Wofford and Providence Day head coach Chad Grier will be held on Monday, March 6 at Bank of America Stadium (more details below).

“Supporting youth and high school football is part of what the Carolina Panthers community strives for,” said Riley Fields, director of community relations for the Carolina Panthers. “High school football plays an important role in our communities across the Carolinas, and we’re excited to raise our support by bringing the first-ever high school football game to Bank of America Stadium with a power battle between the Northwestern Trojans and the Providence Day Chargers.”

Northwestern enters 2023 on the back of a 14-2 campaign and the SCHSL Class AAAA state championship game. Last season, Providence Day went 12-1 for its second consecutive NCISAA state championship.

Tickets for the game will go on sale this summer for $5, providing an affordable price point for high school football fans and the wider community. More information about ticket sales will be shared later.
