For those in skill positions, the NFL scouting band has a couple of drills that are particularly enlightening. The one that gets the most eyes, however, is the 40-yard line.
The cornerbacks are in the biggest drill of the event right now, and on Friday, Michigan football cornerback DJ Turner put on an eye-opening performance.
According to Aaron McMann of MLives, Turner clocked a 4.27 unofficial 40-yard dash, which is the fastest in the 2023 NFL combine as of this writing. While that’s certainly not the top speed seen in recent years, it’s a blisteringly fast mark.
