Four divers to compete at NCAA regionals

PISCATAWAY, NJ — Four Scarlet Knights will be in action this week at the NCAA Region A Championships hosted by West Virginia at Myland Park’s Aquatics Center.

Second year students Holly Prasanto and Julia Victorious competes on 1m, 3m and platform, while a graduate student Jenna Douglass takes boards 1 meter and 3 meters and senior Savana Trueb dives at a height of 1 meter and on a platform.

The top five finishers in the 1-meter dash and the top six finishers in the 3-meter dash and platform will advance to the 2023 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held June 15-18. March in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Prasanto was a two-time NCAA regional finalist last season. He finished sixth on 1m and finished seventh on 3m in his first season ‘On The Banks’. The sophomore ranks in the top 10 all-time at Rutgers on all three boards. Vittorioso is making his second appearance at the NCAA regional after placing ninth in the 1-meter and 18-meter dashes.^th 3 meters last season as a freshman. In two meet seasons, he won the 1-meter championship against Nebraska, as well as the Hawkeye Challenge, where he had the fourth-highest score at Rutgers with a score of 312.55. On the platform, Vittorioso finished second in the Hawkeye Challenge with 272.85 points, the fifth highest in RU history.

Trueb is making his fourth appearance at the NCAA Regional. Last season, she was an NCAA qualifier on the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform. At zonals, he was second on the other side, finishing fourth on 3m and third on 1m. At the 2023 Big Ten Championships, Trueb was fourth in the platform consolation final and seventh in the 1-meter consolation final. In two seasons at the meet, she posted the fifth-highest score in Rutgers history as the runner-up on the 1-meter at the Hawkeye Challenge with a score of 310.10. The Scarlet Knight also has the second-highest score (295.60) from his performance at the 2021 Big Al Invitational. Before arriving at Rutgers, Trueb won the 2021 SEC platform title at Missouri, was a two-time NCAA qualifier on platform and also appeared on the meters at the 2021 NCAA Championships.

Douglass is a four-time NCAA regional qualifier, including an NCAA regional finalist in the 1-meter dash and platform as a junior in 2021. Her best performances this season included a third-place finish in the 1-meter dash at Northeastern and a third-place finish. goal from 3 meters against Villanova.
