Porter was named to the AAC Honor Roll for the fifth time

A standout Senior Day performance earned the Wichita State guard Craig Porter Jr. on the new American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

This is the fourth time in six weeks that Porter has been on the list and fifth time overall this year.

6-2 Sr. Terre Haute, Ind. scored a career-high 25 points to go with five blocks and five assists in WSU’s 69-49 Senior Day win over South Florida. On Thursday at No. 1 Houston, he made 7 of 10 shots en route to 17 points.

For the week, he averaged 20.5 points on 61.5 percent shooting, along with 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals.

Porter just turned 24 on Sunday^th Shocker has made 250 assists in his career. This year, he scores an average of 13.4 points and ranks among the conference leaders by division for the postseason (2^n.d1,6), passes (5^th4,5), steal (10^th1.5), rebounds (12^th6.3).

The Shockers (16-14, 9-9) play again Thursday night against Tulsa (6 p.m. CT, ESPNU) for the American Athletic Conference Championship in Fort Worth, Texas. The winner advances to Friday’s quarterfinals against No. 3 Tulane (8 p.m. CT, ESPNU).
