MADISON, Wis.
— The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point hosts Augsburg University (Minn.) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Championship.
The Pointers (19-5-4) earned an automatic bid to the 12-team field by winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament/Commissioner’s Cup (presented by Culver’s). A first-round matchup against Augsburg (16-9-2) is set for March 11 at 7 p.m., with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals at Adrian College (Mich.) (23-4-2).
UW-Stevens Point is making its 16th NCAA appearance and owns six national championships.
The national semifinals will be played on March 24 and the championship game on March 26.
