INDIANAPOLIS North Dakota State wrestling sophomore DJ Parker received an at-large bid to the 2023 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Tulsa in two weeks, the NCAA announced Tuesday afternoon, releasing 47 at-large selections to round out the field.
Parker, along with 46 other at-large selections, joins 283 student-athletes who qualified for their conference tournament over the weekend. The 184-pounder is 18-10 on the season, including a pair of ranked wins, and finished fifth overall at the Big 12 Championships, one spot out of an automatic bid.
North Dakota State has a total of six selections to the NCAA Tournament as Parker joins the Big 12 157-pound champion Jared Franekas well as McGwire Midkiff (133), Kelly’s March (149), Michael Caliendo (165) and Owen Pentz (197).
The seeds and brackets for this year’s wrestling national championships will be revealed tomorrow, March 7, during the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships Selection Show on NCAA.com at 7:00 pm CT.
