Academic All-Americans – Stanford University Athletics

AUSTIN, Texas Brandon AngelandMichael Joneshave joined a select group of men’s basketball alumni before them with their selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America third team.

This season marks the first time in program history that Stanford has had multiple Academic All-Americans in the same year, and they are the first to earn the honor since Oscar da Silva in 2021. Angel and Jones are the 13th and 14th Stanford players. was awarded with recognition.

Angel continued to emerge as one of the top emerging forwards in the Pac-12, finishing the season with averages of 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. 55 percent from the floor in Pac-12 play and 44.2 percent from behind the arc. Angel is majoring in economics.

Jones made history in the fall as the first graduate transfer in Stanford men’s basketball history and quickly settled into the program as one of the sixth best men in the Pac-12. Jones averaged 9.5 points per game and finished fourth in conference play shooting 41.9 percent from three-point range. The Woodbury, Minnesota native is earning a master’s degree in statistics.

Stanford was the only men’s basketball program to have multiple players honored.
