Pepperdine Sweeps UCU WCC Womens Tennis Weekly Honors

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, California For the fifth time this season and third week in a row, Pepperdine swept the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Awards. Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen were named the UCU WCC Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for the third straight weekend, while UCU WCC Singles Player of the Week honors went to Pepperdine’s Bunyawi Thamchaiwa, her first weekly honor of the season.

UCU WCC WOMEN’S TENNIS FALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK BUNYAWI THAMCHAIWAT, SR. PEPPER

Thamchaiwat won her match against USC, fighting off multiple match points in the second set to force a third, and the senior eventually edged Pepperdine 4-3 with a 5-7, 7-6 (6), 6-1 win over Emma Charney. marks the Waves’ 11th straight win over the Trojans.

UCU WCC WOMEN’S TENNIS TEAM OF THE WEEK JANICE TJEN AND SAVANNAH BROADUS PEPPERDINE

The nation’s top doubles team, Broadus and Tjen defeated USC’s No. 24 Cheong/Han 6-0. Pepperdine beat USC for the 11th straight meeting, 4-3. The duo is now 9-1 in the dual season and 24-2 overall this school year.
