Sportradar reports strong financial results in 2022, driven by the growing popularity of legal sports betting in America.
Aggregator of sports information created Revenue of $781.3 million in fiscal year 2022, which represents a 30 percent increase compared to the previous year. Sportradar exceeded its own revenue expectations, as the Swiss company predicted 2022 revenue of $760-765 million.
Sportradar benefited from the US segment in 2022, which saw a 78% increase in revenue compared to the previous year. The company’s Other World segment grew by 26% year-on-year.
“I am very pleased with our strong results, driven by exceptional performance in the past year,” CEO Carsten Koerl said in a statement. “We saw excellent performance across all of our key performance measures despite challenging macroeconomic conditions.”
Sportradar estimates the turnover to be between 955 and 974 million dollars in 2023.
Expanding coverage
Sportradar reports growth despite investments in developing its product and customer portfolio.
In September 2022, the company secure multi-year partnership with Hard Rick Digital to bring live sports content to Hard Rock sports betting. In the same month, Sportradar signed a multi-year betting tracking agreement with the European Table Tennis Federation and landed partnership agreement with the Caribbean Premier League to collect and share data.
In December 2022, Sportradar was was awarded Gaming license in the Buckeye State. Sports betting in Ohio was legalized on January 1st. The state created Revenue of $208.9 million of betting that month. As of March 15, Sportradar has 44 licenses in the United States and Canada.
Also Sportradar launched Athlete Wellness in 2022. Developed for sports leagues, federations, teams and governing bodies, the program provides resources to educate athletes about the mental health effects of sports betting.

A strong start
Sportradar has wasted no time in 2023 picking up where it left off the previous year.
In January, the company entered into an extended cooperation with Betway, as a result of which one of the best online betting sites utilizes Sportradar’s multi-channel marketing platform and audiovisual services.
Earlier this month, Sportradar was selected as the successful bidder for ATP data and betting streaming rights from 2024 onwards. The company was among five bidders that submitted a proposal for a six-year contract.
Sportradar has also provided secondary data feeds of the ATP Tour since last year.
