UTSA prepares for a road game at Prairie View on Saturday

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – UTSA women’s tennis will travel to Prairie View, Texas to face Prairie View A&M on Saturday afternoon. The first serve is set at 14:00 at the PVAMU Tennis Courts.

UTSA improved to 11-8 record after splitting last weekend in Charleston, SC The Roadrunners beat the College of Charleston 4-3 last weekend before falling to Charleston Southern 4-1. Alexandra Zlatarova (14-2) has consistently dominated the No. 1 singles spot for the Roadrunners all season. Lexie Weir (12-6) and Magda Tuells (10-7) both also have double-digit wins, playing second and fourth. Zlatarova and Weir each have a team-high 12 wins in doubles.

The Roadrunners are undefeated at 7-0 against the Panthers in the all-time series. The last time UTSA beat Prairie View was on April 3, 2022, when the Roadrunners beat the Panthers 5-2. After sweeping the doubleheader, UTSA lost the final two pitches by default. The Roadrunners then rallied to take the top four pitches in order and win 5-2.

Prairie View holds a 4-20 record after a 4-2 loss to Alabama A&M on March 11th. The Panthers are currently on a four game losing streak. Their first baseman Gabrielle Leslie has a 13-5 record, while their second baseman Victoria Castillo is the only Panther with double-digit wins (11-10). Castillo has been paired with teammate Mahogany Green in the first doubles court for a 13-8 record.

NEXT: Roadrunners return home for Senior Day, hosting Houston on April 7 at 1 p.m. Team recognizes senior captain Keegan McCain and all his contributions to the program during the senior ceremony.
