Arwen Borowiak becomes a 3x All-American at the NCAA Championships

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. The Penn State men’s and women’s fencing teams qualified seven fencers for the 2023 NCAA National Championships. The first two competition days were dedicated to men’s competitions. All four men competing in their prized weapon finished in the top 15, including one All-American.

Foil Arwen Borowiak placed eighth and earned All-America status. As a junior, this is his third straight season as an NCAA qualifier and All-American. He earned All-America honors as a freshman by finishing sixth and then finished seventh at the end of his sophomore season. He won 12 of 23 matches over two days to earn this accolade.

in Epe, Ryan Griffiths ended in 13^thplace with Clement Perrier coming at 3 p.m^thin sable. Aidan Johnson finished just behind Borowiak in ninth place in the foil series.

Heading into the women’s events on Saturday and Sunday, Penn State is currently ranked seventh with a team score of 337.

Women’s epee rounds 1-3 start on Saturday at 9 a.m. Foil follows at 11 a.m. with saber and ends the day at 1:30 p.m. The fourth and fifth rounds start on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Semi-finals and finals at 1:30 p.m.
